Volunteer with 4-H Today!

No matter how much time you have, volunteering with 4-H makes a difference by helping youth explore and discover the skills they need to lead for a lifetime.  While there are many ways in which volunteers can share their time and talents, the most common in Clermont County is volunteering with a community club.  Individuals wanting to serve in the capacity of a club volunteer must complete the following:

 

 

1. Talk with the head advisor of your 4-H club
  • It is important to determine what the club needs and how they can best utilize your talents
2. Receive a position description 
  • Position Descriptions are included in the application
3.  Complete and submit an application by March 1.

4. Have references collected by Extension professionals
  • Please have the emails, phone numbers, and addresses of three references before starting your application.  Reference forms will be emailed automatically upon completion of the application.
5. Agree to and sign the volunteer standards of behavior form
  • The standards of behavior is included in the electronic application
6. Submit to a criminal history fingerprint record check
  • Background check results must be on file prior to an individual working with 4-H members.  A BCI is required for individuals who have lived in Ohio for five consecutive years.  A BCI and FBI background check are required for individuals who have lived outside of Ohio within the past five years.

  • It is important to note that Clermont County Sheriff’s Department requires an appointment for all background checks.  Click HERE to schedule an appointment.
7. Participate in an orientation/training program 
  • March 3, 6:00p.m., Zoom
  • Online Orientation – must complete by March 15

8. Complete an interview 
  • An signup will be emailed at a later date to complete volunteer interviews.
