90 Second Commercial about the Initiative – updated August 2018

What is the Extension Endowment Initiative?

This initiative is a statewide effort to create perpetual funding sources for OSU Extension through long-term investments. We are striving to heighten awareness about giving opportunities benefiting Extension, strengthen local partnerships and cultivate endowment gifts that can power Extension’s mission for years to come.

Who holds and manages endowed funds?

The Extension Advancement Team is authorized to secure gifts that are processed within and stewarded through The Ohio State University Foundation.

Will my gift(s) stay local?

Yes. Gifts can be designated by donors for use in select counties and for select programs. The Ohio State University Foundation must adhere to the restrictions established by donors for the gifts that the Foundation is able to accept. A number of endowed Extension funds already exist. Gifts and pledges of any amount can be directed to these established funds to add to the principal. A minimum gift of $50,000 must be received in order to create a new restricted endowment, subject to university approval.
