About Me

Hi! My name is Abby Ewing. I am from a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. I graduated from Kings High School. I am a first year at The Ohio State University. I am currently studying Special Education, but I plan to be adding a Psychology double major or minor. I am so excited to be at Ohio State (especially with the risk of not being on campus!) and am enjoying my time in ACES Scholars.

My overall career goal is to teach children who have experienced trauma (orphans, vulnerable children, foster care children, kids from broken families, etc). My hope is to work for a nonprofit somewhere abroad. However, if and when I work in the States, I would love to work as an intervention specialist in an elementary, middle, or high school.

I come from a big family, as I am one of six kids. Growing up, there was always something going on and I was never bored. Some of my hobbies include soccer and basketball, biking, walking, or running around the lake near my house, and trying out new coffee or ice cream shops. I also love ice skating and everything about Christmastime.

Since coming to OSU, I have joined Empower Mentoring where I mentor high school students at Columbus North International every week. Throughout mentoring, we guide these students through their after high school options and opportunities. I have really enjoyed this experience and can’t wait to continue it in my next semesters at Ohio State.
