My two peer mentors are Trey Hammond and Kayah Woodford. For this interview I decided I would interview Kayah. Kayah is a political science major having the goal of law school. She is highly active in her community with the founding and running of the Bexley Anti- Racism Project. This project aims to give voices to marginalized groups in Bexley within the larger group of the Black Lives Matter movement. She is also highly involved in the Morrill Scholars Program here at OSU. Throughout our conversation Kayah said the best advice she could give me was “ to not try to change myself to fit into spaces I know I didn’t belong”. With Kayah’s advice for my freshman year it is important that I stay true to myself and find people that have the same values and interests as me.
