Self-Care for the Season
Engage your 5 senses and be mindful of the merriment!
Sight- Take a walk/drive and enjoy the décor, at home and around town
Sound- Listen to your favorite holiday tunes or the silence of snowfall
Scent- Inhale scents of the season: fresh pine and peppermint
Taste- Sample holiday treats: hot chocolate, freshly baked cookies, fruitcakes
Touch- Soft snow, cozy blankets and snuggling by the fire
Try to indulge at least one sense a day!
Feel free to share your own holiday favorites!
All my senses are engaged this year because I have a new recliner that is strategically placed right outside my kitchen. I can kick back, snuggle under a blanket with a puppy or two, have a cup of coffee that smells like cinnamon bread and tastes fabulous! Then, I can look up and see the crystal white tree, the woodland tree, the flower tree and the rose gold tree. When it is dark outside and all the tree lights are on – it is magical and peaceful.
