Mastering the Art of Time Management
HOW TO MANAGE YOUR TIME.
I have come to call Time management an art due to the respect I have for this skill. It’s is an acquired skill that over time of practice can be a habit. As a full time student who works about 36 hours a week, mastering this skill is very important. Here some tips I learnt on how to efficiently do this.
- The First step is to set your goals, think big picture, aka big goals then narrow them into smaller goals
- Allocate a set time to each activity or small goals set. Be sure to pace yourself, know your strengths and work with it. Do all this while keeping track of time , the best would be to set a timer.
- Set your priorities before you begin
- Do not attempt to multitask, fear of losing time we tend to do this but it never works, rather focus on one task and finish it.
- Limit Distractions, control your surroundings as much as possible. If possible create a work station that stimulates your concentration.
- Use digital tools such as calender’s. This course and app introduced called Trello , I recommend this to everyone, but other digital notes taking is good such as Google keep.
- Relax by taking interval breaks, ease the mind and get back in business.
