About Me

My name is Jeb Hocter and I am entering my senior year at Ohio State with a major in Biological Engineering. I am originally from the small town of South Vienna, Ohio and always dreamed of being a Buckeye. Adjusting from my small town and high school to the much larger city of Columbus and the Ohio State campus was exciting and it really gave me the chance to find other people who have similar interests as me. My twin brother and myself have always pictured ourselves being Engineers, and with constant dedication to our schoolwork we have been able to accomplish our dreams. I plan on staying in a city setting as I pursue a career in Biological Engineering.

I chose this major so that I can one day work developing alternative energy. There is a lot of energy in the world that we don’t know how to use yet and I want to use my education to help unlock the potential of this energy. I have a significant interest in converting biomass into useable energy, as biomass is a renewable energy source in which we have just recently figured out how to use. This is a relatively new major, and it is exciting to be a part of as it gives me the opportunity to create innovative solutions to a growing energy problem.
