Hi, My name is Sam Keefer. I am in my fifth year at The Ohio State University. I am majoring in English. English has always been an interest of mine, I am mostly interested in writing. I have had the pleasure of working on an ongoing writing project concerning unconventional energy extraction also known as “fracking”. This project is being conducted through The Ohio State University at Marion Anthropology Department. I would eventually like to write for a company, such as McGraw-Hill which is one of the “big three” educational publishers. This company provides customized educational content in various fields of education in various forms. The company has published educational software and books for pre-K through postgraduate education. It would be really interesting to work for a company like this. As an English major, I get asked if I am going to become a teacher, which has never really been my intention but it is a possibility if I decide to go on for a master’s degree. I have always had the intention of writing and editing. Working for a company like McGraw-Hill would be a nice job to have, while I weigh the pros and cons of going on for a master’s degree in English.
