To become a more globally aware student, I hope to study abroad. After completing my French courses, I would like to go to France. I would also like to take a neuroscience course in Copenhagen in the summer.
Throughout my time at OSU, I hope to engage in various research labs. I also would like to do an independent research thesis about how LSD affects bat’s ability to use echolocation.
I chose my neuroscience major because I am interested in how people work, but I wanted to look at it from a more “hard science” perspective than psychology. I hope to go to graduate school for neuroscience. To do this, I will take my major courses, including Dr. Wenk’s psychopharmacology, and a statistics for psychology course as a GE. These will help me decide what specific research I want to do in graduate school and beyond.
So far, I have helped out with OWL at OSU. This helped me realize that I like to organize things, and that I do not do well with directing people. Therefore, I am better suited to be a behind the scenes leader.
For service, I am involved in volunteering at a bunny shelter. I also hope to help out with the Adventures in Neuroscience camp that I was involved in as a high schooler.
