About

The Mathematics Department at Ohio State has a large and active research group in Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems. This field has been a strength area of the department for many years, and the current group have a wide range of research interests including:

  • Ergodic Ramsey theory
  • Combinatorics and combinatorial number theory
  • Ergodic theory on homogeneous spaces of Lie Groups
  • Applications to number theory and geometry
  • Thermodynamic Formalism
  • Symbolic dynamics
  • Dynamics applied to biology

There are weekly seminars on thursdays, as well as student organized learning seminars. The group’s research interests overlap with those of other groups in the department including number theory, geometric group theory, combinatorics and probability.

Our seminar is financially supported by the Ohio StateĀ Mathematics Research Institute.
