There’s plenty of ways to come to Ohio State and make your time here fun and productive without alcohol. Here’s some examples of exciting ways to find your place at OSU without getting into the party “scene.”

Recreational sports And facilities

Staying active while in college is an easy way to maintain a healthy lifestyle and alleviate stress. With nearly a dozen recreational facilities located all over campus, this is made even more attainable! Joining sports teams at the intramural or club level is also a great way to find your niche here on campus and an easy way to make friends.

Student organizations

One of the best ways to meet people similar to you is by joining one of over 1,000 student organizations on campus. There’s a student org created for almost any purpose you can think of, and if there isn’t one already on campus you can easily create your own!

Undergraduate research

As a university, Ohio State focuses heavily on encouraging undergraduate students to participate in research. Undergraduate research is an easy way to develop a relationship and work closely with an OSU faculty member, and it helps develop professional and personal skills that are key to finding success in the work force.

Get to know Columbus

Ohio State’s campus is located in the heart of Columbus, the 16th largest city in the country. With the city’s downtown area being just a short bus ride from campus, there’s plenty of activities and entertainment at your disposal. With the great restaurants hidden in the Short North, sporting events such as the Columbus Crew and Blue Jackets, and concert venues located in the campus area, it’s nearly impossible to get bored in Columbus. Columbus is also home to many Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, which allows students to find unique internship and job opportunities while they’re in school.
