The Safety Culture of the Nuclear Power Industry
People are increasingly wary of nuclear power plants in their communities. Many people don’t want to move into areas that are near a nuclear power plant, fearing for the safety of their families.
Many of these fears stem from well known (but rare) accidents that have occurred in nuclear plants throughout the past forty years.
Our goal is to show what actually went wrong during these accidents, how they have impacted the safety culture of the nuclear power industry, and what still needs to be done to continue improving the safety of communities near nuclear power plants.
Hopefully, we can show people that a lot has been done to ensure the safety of their communities near nuclear power plants, and encourage them to continue advocating for safer nuclear regulations.
