The war between the galactic empire and rebel alliance has come to the climax. The rebel alliance is looking for a strategy to dominate the war. One of the strategy is to build a monorail system to transport their R2D2 unis. Due to limited power, the system requires an efficient model.
In this course, the team is tasked of building an Advance Energy Vehicle (AEV) which prioritize the needs of energy management, operational efficiency, and operational consistency. The AEV will travel on a monorail system with certain partition. The AEV will move and stop before the gate, waiting for the gate to open and then it will pick up the cargo stored on a caboose at the end of the rail system. The AEV will complete its mission by returning to its starting point. The needs of energy management will be measured by the energy per mass used by AEV to complete the mission. The AEV model should be able to run on different type of track, and the AEV must also not completely depends on the power supply to complete the mission. These two characteristics will comply the operational consistency requirement. In order to successfully meet the operational efficiency requirement, the AEV must complete the scenario given in the lab manual and complete the task within 2.5 minutes.
