Battery Testing

Goal: Determine whether repeated use of a battery decreases voltage over time.

For the battery test, five consecutive runs were completed and the data was extracted to compare the voltage output of the battery.

A graph of the voltage output for all of the runs can be found below.

Voltage output of all five runs of the battery testing.

It was found that the voltage for all five runs was consistent with the furthest distance between voltages being around 0.060 V. The consistency signifies that the battery was not losing power with each consecutive run. The arduino has a built in limit to the amount of voltage output allowed. The actual voltage is well above this limit so any decrease in voltage would have been nowhere near the limit and would not have affected the results or performance of the AEV. The results of this test concludes that if there are issues with the performance of the vehicle, the voltage output of the battery can be ruled out as the problem.
