Three performance tests were ran with the AEV: Performance Test 1, Performance Test 2, and the Final Performance Test. Performance Test 1 and 2 were ran with the original AEV design created with the AEV kit parts. The Final Performance Test was ran with the final AEV design which included several custom parts.
Performance Test 1:
In Performance Test 1 the AEV needed to travel to the stop sign, stop in between the sensors, wait for 7 seconds, and move past the stop sign.
Performance Test 2:
In Performance Test 2 the AEV needed to travel to the stop sign, stop in between the sensors, wait for 7 seconds, attach to the caboose smoothly, wait for 5 seconds, and move out of the loading zone.
Final Performance Test:
In the Final Performance Test the AEV needed to travel to the stop sign, stop in between the sensors, wait for 7 seconds, attach to the caboose smoothly, wait for 5 seconds, travel to the stop sign, stop in between the two sensors, wait for 7 seconds, and to make it to the end of the track with at least one wheel past the tape.
