Group F will approach the development of the Advanced Energy Vehicle (AEV) with the goal of fulfilling all safety, design, and cost requirements. In addition, Group F will focus on minimizing the weight and long term cost of the AEV. Minimizing the weight of the AEV will help to reduce the time needed to complete the route. Reducing the time needed to complete the route will make the AEV an attractive, efficient, and popular method of transportation for Linden. In addition, minimizing the overall cost of the AEV involves both choosing the most cost effective parts to make the physical AEV and choosing parts that will make the AEV energy efficient, which will reduce energy consumption and cost. Further, a lower cost will free up more money for the City of Columbus to pursue other “smart” projects. As a result, minimizing the weight and cost of the AEV will help create the best AEV possible.
