March

Date: 3/4/19

Time: 10:20-11:15PM

Members Present: All

Objectives: AR&D

  • Conner/Ryley re-constructed AEV
  • Robbie uploaded code and conducted reflectance sensor test
  • Robbie and Ryley conducted 3 trials running the forward-facing coaxial motors configuration

Date: 3/5/19

TIme: 5:40-6:20PM

Members Present: All

Objectives: Clarify upcoming tasks

  • Group met to discuss website update 3 and revisit methodology

Date: 3/6/19

Time: 10:20=11:15AM

Members Present: Conner, Robbie, Ryley

Objectives: AR&D

  • Ryley re-assembled the AEV to test the contra-rotating propellers design
  • Robbie uploaded the code
  • Steve worked on custom parts
  • Propellers executed the code but did not work as expected: thrust was generated in both directions which resulted in the AEV not moving on the track

Date: 3/7/19

Time:11:10-12:30PM

Members Present: All

Objectives: Prepare for Performance Test 1

  • There was a great degree of difficulty in getting the AEV started
  • Many troubleshooting techniques were used
  • A wire broke and the replacement Arduino lacked reflectance sensor ports which prevented further testing
  • GTA Richetti recommended getting assistance from Group G in preparing for Performance Test 1 due to setbacks

Date: 3/18/19

Time: 10:20-11:15AM

Members Present: All

Objectives: Complete Performance Test 1

  • Ryley calculated the distances the AEV will travel in marks and initiated conversation with Group G to assist in the development of Performance Test 1 code
  • Conner Assembled the AEV
  • Robbie wrote/uploaded code
  • Ran test trials to evaluate code, brainstormed improvements as a group
  • Coasting was inconsistent, will most likely implement Group G’s suggested power braking

Date: 3/20/19

Time: 10:20-11:15 AM, 4:30-5:30PM

Members Present: All

Objectives: Complete Performance Test 1, Prepare for PT2

  • Ryley re-assembled AEV
  • Robbie uploaded code
  • Ran 3 test trials, of which the last two were successful
  • Successfully completed PT1
  • Ryley reconstructed the AEV to meet the needs of PT2 with feedback from Steve and Robbie
  • Robbie wrote code for PT2
  • Robbie, Ryley, Steve broke down tasks for Conner for Website Update 3
  • Robbie, Ryley, Steve created AR&D Oral Presentation

Date: 3/21/19

Time: 11:10-12:30PM

Members Present: All

Objectives: Present AR&D findings, prepare for PT2 if possible

  • Completed presentation as a group, learned from the presentations of other groups
  • Reassembled AEV to meet the needs of PT2
  • Rough estimate of coding for PT2

Date 3/24/19

Time: 7:20-9:00pm

Members Present: All

Objectives: Divide tasks for CDR Lab Report

  • Ryley will handle the executive summary
  • Ryley will assist the others if neccessary
  • Robbie will handle the introduction and experimental methodology
  • Steve will handle the results and discussion
  • Conner will handle the conclusions and recommendations

Date: 3/25/19

Time: 10:45-11:15am

Members Present: All

Objectives: PT2 Prep

  • Ryley and Conner finished design for PT2
  • Robbie handled coding
  • Managed to run the AEV on the track once

Date: 3/27/19

Time: 10:20-11:15AM

Members Present: All

Objectives: PT2

  • As a group, several test trials were run to evaluate and correspondingly edit the code designed for PT2 until the AEV executed PT1, proceeded to connect to the caboose without recoiling, and then exited the loading dock

Time: 5:20-6:00pm

Members Present: All

Objectives: Go over CDR responsibilities, Committee Meeting 2

  • Previously established roles were reconfirmed
  • Group positively reached conflict resolution

Date: 3/28/19

Time: 11:10-12:30PM

Members Present: All

Objectives: Complete Committee Meeting 2, Prepare for AR&D 3

  • As the HR rep Ryley presented on group relations and planning
  • As the PR rep Conner presented on the website development
  • As the R&D rep Robbie presented on the results of testing
  • Steve further developed and refined the parts for the direct drive design
  • AR&D 3 Methodology: Run FPT with the “sample” AEV and the direct drive to compare accuracy and efficiency
  • Group got on the track several times to perfect Final Performance Test code for the “sample” AEV
  • Next meeting: 4/01
