As the smart city of Columbus research comes to a close there are many points that need to be highlighted. Safety for the city of Columbus was the number one concern, and was always addressed in any design idea. Along with safety, efficiency was a top priority in order to lessen the energy consumption of the city while still hoping to lessen the commute of the average citizen. Below will be a list of points that Group C believes are the reasons this design should be chosen.
- Direct drive band driven proportion allows for maximum power efficiency only utilizing one motor compared to the standard two.
- The Direct drive design also allows for better aerodynamics and stability along with better grip to the track.
- With inclusion of a servomotor break accuracy will rise to a level close to perfection
- A slimmer design will help to reduce weight making wait times for commuters less.
- With the added stability the safety of the vehicle design will be safer than the average daily drive.
Along with this list with minor modifications this design would also be one of the most cost efficient allowing the city of Columbus to maximize use of the grant received while making commutes safer, quicker, and more energy efficient.
