Meeting 19 (P)

Week 11 – 4/3/2019 – Meeting 19

Location: HI 308

Time: 8:00-8:55

Members Present: Hayden, Pulkit, Bryan

Topics:

  • Tested 1st shell, found it to be obsolete
    • too heavy, back wheel doesn’t sit on track
      • reflectance sensor not able to record properly, no data extraction available
    • shell rubs into AEV arm, arm becomes slanted/off balance
    • didn’t make it over the incline
  • Applied and tested final shell
    • works very well with current chassis, moved battery onto arm instead of having it placed on bottom of vehicle
      • found to be helpful, less swaying during travel
    • top cover does not fit onto shell because of wires, will file a hole into it
      • also sits on shell in a very loose manner, will use tape
    • did not inhibit AEV travel at all, data was recorded properly unlike last design iteration

Upcoming topics:

  • Make some tweaks to AEV shell to have top fit on
  • Further edit code for final performance test
  • Progress Report 3 due Monday

Meeting 18 (P)

Week 11 – 4/1/2019 – Meeting 18

Location: HI 308

Time: 8:00-8:55

Members Present: All

Topics:

  • Research and development methodology 3 – applied the 1st iteration AEV shell to chassis
  • Tweaked code based on track, but did not test
  • Noticeable flaws already with the first AEV shell
    • extremely large and heavy, almost does not fit onto the chassis
    • cannot plug usb cord into the arduino

Upcoming tasks:

  • Test the 1st iteration AEV shell
    • collect data, record results
  • Apply final AEV shell that has just been printed
    • collect data, record

Meeting 17 (P)

Week 10 – 3/29/2019

Location: HI 224

Time: 7:30-8:55

      • additional time opportunity 24 advance notice for extra R&D
    • Marty (HR) – everyone gets along well
    • Bryan (PR) – website updates need to be applied
  • Website update notes
    • timeline of AEV, how would you go on with a timeline format?
      • arrow over and have dates, draw conclusions and “because of this we did this change”
      • or separate evolution page with one picture of each prototype
    • change titles of final design to just modifications of grant proposal?
      • yes, don’t exactly have a final design, just a final concept to improve on
    • Other notes:
      • cdr can copy from website cuz website overlaps to everything
      • cite sources (sources page) like pr&d and ohio state directions
      • put descriptions on code page to inform audience what “performance test 1” is
      • like two sentences of comments before each section of code

Upcoming Tasks:

  • Methodology 3 – applying the AEV shell to the chassis
    • will tweak code based on new weight of vehicle
  • Progress Report 3
