We decided to use the servo as a power break to stop the wheels instantly. As shown here the difference between the servo motor and the coasting is less power used, and also a lot more controllable than the coasting method and uses a lot less power than power breaking. We concluded that to be the most precise and efficient the power break would be the way to go, and will be using the servo as the brake in the final AEV design.
