pR&D 02&04 AEV

These pictures show the AEV built after completing the Preliminary Lab 02&04. For both of these labs, external reflectance sensors were used, as seen in picture 1. The purpose of the reflectance sensors is to keep track of how many times the wheel (which has reflective tape on it) passes the sensor. There are two sensors attached on the AEV so therefore each rotation of the wheel is converted to 8 marks. The sensors will be very helpful when performing the MCR because once the distance is calculated that the AEV needs to travel, a conversion factor of inches to marks will be used and a program can be run to tell the AEV exactly how many marks it needs to travel. The picture on the very far right consists of the proper orientation of the reflective sensors on the base of the wheel mount of the AEV.
