Meetings

Meeting #1

Date: 15 January 2018

Location: Online Via voice chat software (Discord)

Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Members Present: Andrew Cantor (AC), Michael Zgaljardic (MZ), Jacob Whitley (JW), David Warner (DW)

Objective: Today’s main objective was to answer several questions regarding the overall design and building of the AEV. We figured out if the motors can reverse (MZ), methods for braking (JW), how much power is needed to carry the payload up and down inclines (AC) and the total distance that the AEV will travel throughout the entire course (DW).

To-Do: Create website and come up with more potential design choices.

Decisions: Assigned roles to each team member for the time being. These are subject to change. We also came up with a preliminary design for the AEV that we will put together at the next meeting.

Roles:

– Andrew Cantor: Note Taker

– Michael Zgaljardic: Builder

– Jacob Whitley: Programmer

– David Warner: Designer

Reflections:

– We need to figure out the strengths of each member more in depth.

– Should’ve decided on a regular meetup time.

Upcoming Tasks:

– Work on website more (MZ).

– Research efficient designs (DW).

– Begin rough drafts of design (AC).

– Start working on basic programming (JW).

Meeting #2

Date: 26 January 2018

Location: Thompson Library, Room 045C

Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Members Present: Andrew Cantor (AC), Michael Zgaljardic (MZ), Jacob Whitley (JW), David Warner (DW)

Objective: Today’s main objective was to complete the group AEV concept sketch and individual sketch designs. The team learned how to collaborate concepts and create an efficient AEV from out individual experiences.

To-Do: Create/Revise individual concept sketches and create group concept sketch.

Decisions: Create group AEV and calculate total cost of components. Each team member will do their individual sketch and cost calculations on their own.

Roles:

– Andrew Cantor: Group Design Sketcher

– Michael Zgaljardic: Concept Designer and Photographer

– Jacob Whitley: Programmer and Concept Designer

– David Warner: Concept Designer

Reflections:

– Figured out strengths and weaknesses of each group member.

– Regularly meet each week to complete progress reports and website updates.

Upcoming Tasks:

– Upload photographs to website (MZ).

– Research if group AEV design is effecient (DW).

– Polish up group design (AC).

– Update website and analyze AEV Arduino code (JW).

Meeting #3

Date: 2 February 2018

Location: Thompson Library, Room 045C

Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Members Present: Andrew Cantor (AC), Michael Zgaljardic (MZ), Jacob Whitley (JW), David Warner (DW)

Objective: Today’s main objective was to divide and conquer work. Finish up Website Update 2 and put together Progress Report 1.

To-Do: Divide out tasks to group members and finish Concept Screening and Scoring on each design.

Decisions: Finish the website update during the meeting, meet up another day to put together the progress report.

Roles:

– Andrew Cantor: Concept Screening and Scoring

– Michael Zgaljardic: Reflectance Censor Analyzer and Inspector

– Jacob Whitley: Programmer and Data Analyzer

– David Warner: Data and Sketch Analyzer

Reflections:

– Best to work on Website Update and Progress Report individually.

– Regularly meet each week to complete progress reports and website updates.

Upcoming Tasks:

– Upload pictures of Reflectance Censors and explain their importance (MZ).

– Explain and upload AEV concept process and ideas (DW).

– Post Concept Screening and Scoring & Team Meeting Notes (AC).

– Add tabs, explain arduino code, and analyze graphs (JW).

Meeting #4

Date: 9 February 2018

Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Members Present: Andrew Cantor (AC), Michael Zgaljardic (MZ), Jacob Whitley (JW), David Warner (DW)

Objective: Discuss Grant Proposal and Team Committee Content

To-Do: Determine Committee sub-groups for each team member. Determine which part to present for the Grant Proposal.

Decisions: Custom Arm for Direct Drive AEV will be presented for the Grant Proposal. AC will do HR, JW and DW do R&D, MZ will do PR.

Roles:

– Andrew Cantor: HR and Introductory Speaker for Grant Proposal

– Michael Zgaljardic: PR and Safety/Marketing Analyst
