  • Weight: Overall weight of components
  • Stability: Ability to hold load and parts stable
  • Safety: Non-obstructive and secure components
  • Durability: Sustainability and security
  • Cost: Total cost of components
  • Aerodynamics: Aerodynamic efficiency

Design A

Pros:

  • Lighter than reference
  • Stable in terms of base size and overall width
  • Durable to hold components

Cons:

  • Aerodynamically inefficient compared to other designs
  • Relatively safe

Design B

Pros:

  • Lightest design
  • Smaller, less likely to topple or crash

Cons:

  • Aerodynamically inefficient compared to other designs
  • Questionable strength

Design C

Pros:

  • Aerodynamically efficient
  • Very stable
  • High speed

Cons:

  • Very costly
  • Average weight

Design D

Pros:

  • Stable lengthwise base
  • Aerodynamic

Cons:

  • Wings may be obstructive on track

Design E

Pros:

  • Lengthwise stability
  • Simple
  • Less costly

Cons:

  • Average compared to other designs

Final Verdict:

Design A and Design B will be carried to the design cycle. Both scored the highest in Concept Screening. A and B scored within .1 difference in weighted score during the Concept Scoring. Further testing is required to determine which will be the final design.
