Team Meeting 1

Location: Hitchcock Hall 308

Time: 4:10-5:05 pm

Attendees: Sarah McKinsey, Yingqiu Zhou, Frank Kowalczyk, Kaibo Zhang

Topics:

During this meeting we discussed what the team website is and how to create one to align with the rubric provided. We also talked about how to write the team meeting minutes in a standard template. Both of these two tasks are due on Friday so this meetings primary goal was to address the upcoming tasks and make sure all team members understand what needs to be done. Sarah knows how to create the team website on u.osu.edu, so she will be the one making it.

During this time we were able to ask one of the UTAs to make sure the website is for all three groups which are in the same “company”, which was confirmed.

Upcoming Tasks:

  • Sarah is going to create the team website,
  • Yingqiu is going to finish the team meeting minutes
  • Kaibo and Frank are going to inform other members who are in the same “company” with us that Sarah is creating the website and to look out for a link to the website.

 

Team Meeting 2

Topics:

  • We discussed the progress with the first research lab and what needs to be done in order for the team to be prepared for next lab
  • Members identified their strengths in relationship to the project (ex: some are better at coding while some are better at writing)

Upcoming Task:

  • Sarah has taken responsibility of taking the AEV to and from lab
  • Frank and Kaibo are going to look over the rest of the sample AEV to quickly finish putting it together next lab period
  • Sarah and Yingqiu have agreed on starting the Arduino code for the external sensors lab

 

Team Meeting 3

Topics:

  • The issues with the preliminary lab, including the sensor test failing multiple times and lab 2 not being complete
  • Plan made so that group does not fall behind

Upcoming Task:

  • Everyone will make an individual sketch for preliminary lab 3
  • Sarah will do the website update with deliverables from pre R&D labs
  • Code for lab 2 will be updated to give more power to the motors for re testing

 

Team Meeting 4

Topics:

  • Discussing best type of design to continue in design process
  • Completion of all preliminary labs
    • Kaibo’s and the group’s sketch were selected to continue in R&D
  • The first progress report is due soon and group members feel it would be best to divide the work to then combine for the final paper

Upcoming Task:

  • Progress Report due by next lab
    • The group has agreed to meet on Tuesday (2/5) to work on it together
  • Lab Quiz in class
  • Sarah has agreed to upload all ab data to the website in a timely fashion

Team Meeting 5

Topics:

  • The reflectance sensors on the AEV have not been working correctly in the past two labs, ideas to fix the issues were addressed
  • Which type of testing would be completed in advanced testing stage
    • Coasting vs. Power Brake
    • Battery
  • What part would be pitched for the grant proposal on (2/16)
    • The group feels it would be best to construct a new battery support
  • How to complete the testing in next lab in order for the group to remain caught up

Team Meeting 6

Topics:

  • The team did 1 minute presentation of grant proposal to show what problem the team was focusing on for the past few weeks.
  • The team did the committee meeting
  • The team finished the battery testing and get plots for voltage versus distances and power versus distances.

Upcoming task:

  • Finish evaluate the data of Costing vs. Power Braking test
  • Calculate mean of and standard deviation of braking distance for coasting and power braking; calculate the mean of power usage for coasting and power braking.

Topics:

  • Since the team found out some problems with results of coasting and power braking tests, they decided to ask TA how to modify to get correct result.
  • Evaluate the data of Coasting vs Power Braking and Battery Testing
  • Prepare oral presentation, assign jobs for oral presentation to each team members.

  • Upload data and plots obtained from lab to team website.
