Team Meeting Minutes

Meeting 1:

Date 1/19/18

Location: Thompson Library

Time: 2:30 – 3:30

Attendees: Albert Becker, Matt Jones

The team worked on setting up the divisions portion of the company website in accordance to the guidelines set. The “Meet the Team” page was also set up during this time. These tasks had the fastest approaching deadlines so we decided to finish them first. It was also spent as a time to get to know each other to create a more coherent team.

When Creating the AEV, we want to focus on creating the most energy efficient design for an AEV. We believe that transit time or load size cannot be permitted to compromise energy efficiency.

Topics to discuss in upcoming meetings:

We need to divide the work required to complete this project so that every member of the team is completing a fair amount of work. Specific roles will be decided during the next meeting. The next meeting time and place will be decided by the team members within the next 2 days. Unforeseen issues may arise and will need to be dealt with. When such problems arise they will be delegated among team members according to their abilities so that the problem may be rectified in a timely manor.

Meeting 2:

Date: 2/1/2018

Location: Thompson Library

Time: 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Attendees: Albert Becker, Matt Jones, Bowen Li

During this team meeting, we discussed who will be taking what role for the AEV project. Albert Will take the role of Head of Website Design and Documentation, Matt will be Head of Code, Bowen will be Co-Head of Website Design and Documentation and Code, and Barrett will be Head of AEV Construction and Design.

We also worked on Website Update 2. We uploaded wrote in the code we developed in labs 1 and 2 as well as the code chart provided for us. Our initial plan was to work on lab 3 during this meeting as well and build a test AEV for lab but we forgot our kit, unfortunately. Instead we started our preliminary designs for the AEV and what we can get done in lab 3 without the kit. knowing that the Website Update 2 requires every member of the team to draw their on preliminary design, we all worked on them tonight and will get them uploaded before lab tomorrow.

Topic for future:

We need to finish up our own designs by tomorrow afternoon so the team can decide on a design and all can be uploaded to the website. We will also further refine our AEV design in future meetings and well as code development for future lab. Other topics for future meetings to discuss will be team commitment. We have issues finding time where everyone is available to meet to work on the project.

Meeting 3:

Date: 2/7/2018

Location: Raney House

Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Attendees: Albert Becker, Matt Jones, Bowen Li

During this team meeting, we developed a team concept sketch for the AEV. We completed concept screening and scoring of the five sketches that we have drawn so far. We started getting information together and organized so we can write the progress report during the next group meeting.

Topics for future:

We will be writing the progress report during our next meeting. We will further define who is writing what part of the progress report and refine the information we gathered today.

Meeting 4:

Date: 2/8/2018

Time: 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM

During thisĀ  team meeting, we finished a progress report summarizing the past 5 weeks and lab exercise 1-5, as well as uploading the company website page. We started preparation for the Propeller Configuration lab, wrote the code needed for lab time and planned ahead lab activities.

Topics for next day’s lab:

We prepared 4 types of propeller configuration in different directions along with analogous testing, which would help us most time-efficiently during lab time so that we could focus on data collecting.

Meeting 5:

Date: 2/15/2018

Location Thompson Library

Time: 6:30-7:30 PM

Attendees: Albert Becker, Matt Jones, Bowen Li

This meeting was focused on the Grant Proposal and the Committee Meeting. It was a brief meeting where we discussed who would complete which part of the committee meeting. Albert will complete PR, Bowen will be HR, and Matt will complete R&D. Our grant proposal was also drafted up during this meeting. we created a solid works part that will be attached to our AEV.

We will continue to develop our AEV and research our advanced research topics.

Meeting 6:

Date: 2/28/2018

Location: 18th Ave. Library

Time: 5:00-6:30 PM

Attendees: Albert Becker, Matt Jones

During this meeting we gathered up all of the collected data from or Advanced R&D and analyzed it. We made our final decision as to a general design for our groups AEV. We also composed our oral presentation slides for the next lab period.

Topics for next meeting:

We will discuss further how to better our AEV’s design in general. We will come up with a more compact design that will still complete the task at hand. We also need to create a new base on solidworks and print it out.

Meeting 7:

Date: 3/22/2018

Location: Thompson Library

Time: 7:30-9:30 PM

Attendees: Albert Becker, Matt Jones, Bowen Li

During this meeting, we discussed the CDR and who would take which part of it. We then spent the remainder of the meeting working on our assigned portion. Albert is doing abstract, introduction, and experimental methodology. Matt is doing discussion and results. Bowen is doing conclusion and the solidworks AEVs. All three are to update the appendix as they work.

Topics for next meeting:

We need to create a final design still. Much discussion has taken place in class but a consensus cannot be reach at this point. We also will need to design a baseplate to be laser cut in solidworks.

Meeting 8:

Date: 4/7/2018

Location: Thompson Library

Time: 10:45-11:30 AM

Attendees: Albert Becker, Bowen Li, Matt Jones

This meeting was spent determining how the final code should look. We discussed what elements are truly most important and how we can implement them in a program. We also spent time working on the final presentation.

The primary goal of this meeting was to organize all of our data and set up a final presentation for the next lab period. Roles were decided and the presentation was created.
