Team Meeting Notes

Meeting 1 – 1/12/18

Time: 12:45 pm – 2:05 pm

Location: Hitchcock 224

Description: The team introduced themselves to each other and the overview of the AEV project was presented to them. It was decided that the AEV kit will stay in Kyle’s dorm outside of class because his dorm room is closest to Hitchcock Hall. Noah was put in charge of setting up the website for website update 1, and the other team members will put their contact info on the website.

Meeting 2 – 1/19/18

Time: 12:45 pm – 2:05 pm

Location: Hitchcock 224

Attendance: ALL members attended

Description: The team began working on basic programming functions for the Arduino and using the Teamviewer application to thoroughly, and efficiently, communicate. To speed up the process of coding, Sam read off the code while Kyle and Jeremy typed. Noah looked ahead in the process to see what we would be doing next. The team then tested the code and the motors behaved as intended. The team then started the process of testing the reflectance sensors; Sam began attaching the sensors. The team cleaned up and Kyle brought the AEV kit back to his dorm. The team will resume testing the reflectance sensors on 1/26/18.

Meeting 8 – 2/16/18

Time: 12:45 pm – 2:05 pm

Location: Hitchcock 244

Attendance: ALL members attended

Description: A committee meeting was held to evaluate the progress of each section of Baker International. This was crucial in order to assure that each division was accomplishing their assigned tasks. There also was a grant vote to decide which teams would receive extra funding for parts that they created. For our presentation for the grant vote, Sam demonstrated to the class our idea for a more aerodynamic base for our AEV.

Meeting 9 – 2/23/18

Time: 12:45 pm – 2:05 pm

Location: Hitchcock 244

Attendance: ALL members attended

Description: Advanced R&D Lab 2 was performed. For our group, the original intention was to do the wind tunnel experiment. Due to complications, we had to change our plans and do propellor configuration instead. This lab proved to be helpful in determining the best way to build our AEV in order to maximize speed.

Meeting 10 – 2/28/18

Time: 8 pm – 9 pm

Location: Basement of SEL

Attendance: ALL members attended

Description: The team came together and created the powerpoint presentation for the oral presentation that was coming up in lab that week.

Meeting 11 – 3/2/18

Time: 12:45 pm – 2:05 pm

Location: Hitchcock 244

Attendance: ALL members attended

Description: The oral presentation was given in class to broadcast our discoveries made during the two weeks of advanced R&D.

Meeting 12 – 3/9/18

Time: 12:45 pm – 2:05 pm

Location: Hitchcock 244

Attendance: ALL members except Jeremy

Description: The first day of performance testing was held. Since Jeremy was not able to make it, the remaining members experimented with using the servo motor to rotate the base of the AEV in order to increase the aerodynamics of the vehicle.

Meeting 13 – 3/19/18

Time: 12:40 pm – 1:35 pm

Location: Hitchcock 308

Attendance: ALL members attended

Description: The second day of performance test 1 was done. The code to make Team Design 1 successfully complete performance test 1 was experimented with and perfected by the end of the class.

Meeting 14 – 3/21/18

Time: 12:40 pm – 1:35 pm

Location: Hitchcock 308

Attendance: ALL members attended

Description: The third day of performance test 1 was held. The team showed to the TA’s that Team Design 1 could successfully complete performance test 1, thus giving full credit for the experiment. Afterwards, the sample AEV was then tested with to complete performance test 1 in order to have a comparison for the CDR draft.
