Creative Design Thinking

Noah’s:

The overall flat design of my AEV will allow it to be more aerodynamic and will reduce drag, therefore helping to eliminate some access power usage. I also chose to put the Arduino and the battery on opposing sides in order to keep the AEV balanced when hung from the beams.

Kyle’s:

This design primarily focuses on aerodynamics and visual appeal.

Jeremy’s:

The overall design for my AEV is for there to be wing like structures that will help with the aerodynamics. This will create some drag, but the hope is the aerodynamics and being able to pierce the air will overcome that. These also sit further up on the structure while the Arduino sits back to help balance the AEV overall. Lastly, the battery sits underneath to keep the AEV balanced overall.

Sam’s:

My AEV design tries to focus on the least amount of weight possible, and does not contain any more body pieces than necessary.  The placement of the battery and Arduino try to balance the weight of the AEV as much as possible.

Final Team Sketch:

The Final AEV design combines aspects from all of the sample AEV drawings. The wings and position of the motors will maximize the aerodynamic properties of the vehicle, and the positioning in the wheel hand will keep the AEV balanced while it moves along the beam.
