January

Meeting 1:
Date: 1-11-18

Time: 11:10am

Members Present: Luke Miller (LM), Amy Vennetti (AV), Josh Ondayko (JO), Grace McKenzie (GM)

Topics Discussed: Website creation, Communication, Group Dynamic

_____________________________________________________________________

Objective: Discuss with other groups about creating a functioning website for P&C Scott Worldwide, discuss group communication methods, discuss intergroup communication methods, and initial group roles. _____________________________________________________________________

To Do/Action Items: Create u.osu.edu site. Luke will write up group notes. Assign upcoming tasks to members at next meeting.

_____________________________________________________________________

Decisions: Luke will keep the AEV kit. The group will communicate with GroupMe and use Google Docs to exchange documents. In the next lab we will decide on how to proceed further in the project.
_____________________________________________________________________

Reflections: Our schedules’ don’t allow for a lot of face to face meeting times outside of lab, so we will have to make a concerted effort to carve out time. Communications with other groups will be difficult to manage, a steady stream of communication may help keep the lines of information flowing.

Meeting 2:
Date: 1-18-18

Time: 11:10am

Members Present: Luke Miller (LM), Amy Vennetti (AV), Josh Ondayko (JO), Grace McKenzie (GM)

Topics Discussed: Arduino Code, Delivering on Deliverables

_____________________________________________________________________

Objective: Discuss with members the important functions of the Arduino code, useful functions and plan moving forward for the code. _____________________________________________________________________

To Do/Action Items: Upload pictures of R&D lab 1, reflect on the performance of the motors (i.e. what resistance we saw) and how that might affect our code, begin glossary of Arduino codes for the website.

_____________________________________________________________________

Decisions: Josh’s computer worked the the Arduino software well and we will continue to use it. Grace and Josh will be the lead on the coding aspect. Luke will update the website regularly.
_____________________________________________________________________

Reflections: Our first R&D lab proved to be very successful. Josh came prepared with the code for the lab, so we didn’t have to spend a lot of time writing it up. We were able to upload the code into the Arduino and work out kinks right away. We were able to complete the lab up until the reflective sensor test. We found out that by switching the connections we could reverse the direction the AEV logged. This simply means that is important that we wire things correctly or else the code and the action could happen exactly opposite of our intention.

Meeting 3:
Date: 1-25-18

Time: 11:10am – 12:30pm

Members Present: Luke Miller (LM), Amy Vennetti (AV), Josh Ondayko (JO), Grace McKenzie (GM)

Topics Discussed: Creative Idea Sketches, Website Deliverables,  Progress Report

_____________________________________________________________________

Objective: To have team sketches completed by next Lab session, Update Website with sketches, plots, and code.

_____________________________________________________________________

To Do/Action Items: Sketch designs

_____________________________________________________________________

Decisions: Since Luke is keeping the AEV box, he will take a picture of the components and send them to the group. Josh will upload the plots and code from Lab Week 3.  Amy will upload the photos from Lab of the reflective sensors being attached. Grace will be the Lab Team coordinator.

Reflections: In this meeting we burnt out an Ardunio chip. At the end of our lab we were doing some testing on the motors and on what would have been our final run our chip blew a puff of smoke. We got with UTA who tested to see if it was the battery or the chip and unfortunately it was the chip. Our battery was connected correctly so we aren’t sure why that happened or how to be careful to avoid it in the future.
