Topics Discussed: Performance Test 3

_______________________________________________________________________

Objective: Continue developing functioning code that can bring the caboose back to the starting dock

_______________________________________________________________________

To Do/Action Items: Brake AEV slower into caboose, make sure servo functions properly

_______________________________________________________________________

Decisions: A mixture of power braking and coastal braking will be used at the loading dock. Magnet will have to be adjusted slightly to the left to properly attach to the caboose.

_______________________________________________________________________

Reflections: AEV design is operating well. We have to consistently adjust the AEV at the start of class to ensure it operates correctly on a consistent basis.

_______________________________________________________________________

Objective: Complete the first trial of PT3.

_______________________________________________________________________

To Do/Action Items: Adjust the final code and run the AEV on the track for a final grade

_______________________________________________________________________

Decisions: Martin will set adjust the magnet before test begins. Ben will start the AEV at the starting dock, Michael and Parker will be stationed at the gate, and Martin will be stationed at the loading dock

_______________________________________________________________________

Reflections: The test ran successfully. The code was written well and executed the functions as necessary. The final run went over budget, so the team will try to reduce cost for the next run.

Time: 11:10 a.m.

Location: HI 224

Members Present: Ben Scheiber (BS), Michael Rizzoni (MR), Martin Lallemand (ML), Parker Davis (PD)

Topics Discussed: Attempting another PT3 trial

_______________________________________________________________________

Objective: Modify the current AEV to make it lighter and lower overall cost

_______________________________________________________________________

To Do/Action Items: Modify existing AEV code to accommodate for the new design. Reduce parts on the AEV to reduce weight and cost.

_______________________________________________________________________

Decisions: The AEV will use a vertical design. Michael will rework the code while Ben, Martin, and Parker optimize the new lightweight design.

_______________________________________________________________________

Reflections: There was not enough time to optimize the new design. It would have taken another lab period or two to make it truly work. There was no harm in not completing the test, as it did not lower our final grade on PT3.
