AEV Key Area: Safety

Safety is one of the most important things in our AEV project. We need to 100% make sure that no passenger will get hurt when they transfer from Linden to Polaris. Therefore, the main goals of our AEV are safety and convenience. Providing a safe transportation is our top priority to the wellbeing of Linden and the Columbus area citizens. So, we consider some significant points to guarantee that our AEV is pretty safe and convenient.  The points we consider include transitioning and maximum speed, brake time, secure attachment to the rail, and capacity. Those points above should absolutely reach the standard. Transitioning and maximum speed cannot be too high or too low, and brake time should be appropriate. As for capacity, we will have a limitation on the number of passengers to prevent our AEV from overcrowding. In addition, in order to pick up and drop people off well, we need to stop for a sufficient time and give a warning before closing the doors. In this way, our passengers can board to exit safely and slowly. More importantly, our AEV should attach to the rail well, so it won’t make our passengers scared and worried.
