Lab 08: Performance Test 1: Design

Situation

This lab the team looked further into the idea of a spring design. This was done by using SolidWorks to design the AEV and by testing the current design. For the performance test the AEV was not yet created, but its energy usage was still tested by looking at the servos. In the design the servos were the only thing using power, making these tests reasonable.

Weekly Schedule

Team Meeting Notes

Date: 23 – March – 2017

Time: 8:00 pm (Face-to-Face)

Members Present: Jacob Protheroe, Tom Paoloni, Michael Tesmer, Ian Johnson

Topics Discussed: Finalizing 3D Parts, Worked on Arduino Code

Objective:

The focus of today’s meeting was to make headway on the final Arduino code and to completely finalize the custom parts that needed to be made.

To do/Action Items:

  • Finalize 3D Parts – (TP)
  • Work on Arduino Code – (MT)

Decisions:

  • The team finalized the design and sent in the parts files to be created.

Reflections:

  • Due to the use of springs, the variable of motor speed is eliminated from the Arduino code. In this sense, testing the design only relies on marks and is therefore simpler to get right.
