The X-Wingers are developing an Advanced Energy Vechicle (AEV) because there is a need for low cost and energy efficient transportation. The AEV must be able to pick up cargo stored on a caboose somewhere along the track. Due to possible impediments and variations, the AEV must be able to traverse all monorail tracks and withstand the pressures on the AEV such as track curvatures, differing track length, and varying power supply.
The team’s AEV will be judged along with other concept designs. The team hopes to win by completing the task of picking up the cargo successfully while optimizing the Energy User Per Mass metric, which should be minimized to be the most cost-effective in terms of energy. The AEV should also aesthetically pleasing to impress Emperor Dick Busick.
