Lab 7: Design Analysis Tool

The objective of this lab was to become familiar with the Design Analysis Tool which will be used in future labs. The team is able to use MATLAB to create graphs like the one shown below using that tool. The team just has to download the post run data from the AEV and then import into the tool and the graph will be created. It is very simple and the graph is very helpful in showing how much energy is consumed by the AEV in the run and which commands use the most energy. The team will use the tool in the future to analyze each of the runs not only for energy consumption by the AEV, but also the distance and time the AEV travels for.

The team can also create excel sheets of all the data from the run and it will show the progressive information which can show potential inconsistencies or allow the team to do its own calculations that deal with the data given. The team will use this tool in the future to help with energy efficiency and which commands lead to inefficiencies.

Takeaways:

  1. The team has very helpful new way to analyze runs besides our eyes
  2. The team is learning to analyze data in future job sites
