THE MISSION
The advanced energy vehicle, or AEV, is a semester-long project in which a unique rail vehicle is designed, built, tested, analyzed, and documented using the engineering design process.
The mission of the AEV is to navigate an overhead rail to a gate, wait for it to open, pick up cargo at the end of the rail, then return to the start of the rail in the same way.
It explores the real-world engineering problem of designing energy efficient products and emphasizes conservation of electricity; and why this is important globally now and for future generations.
