This Lab-on-a-Chip (LOC) helps in the process of detecting dry eye syndrome. Fluorescein will be inserted in the eye of a patient, and the tears will decrease the concentration of fluorescein. Samples of tear will be taken at intervals and tested in this LOC using Fluorescein Detection Circuit. If the concentration of the fluorescein is high, then the eye is considered dry and needs to be treated. The patient’s eye is good if the concentration of fluorescein is low because this indicates that many tears coming out of the eye.
