Traffic jams are a big problem that have existed for many years and have not been solved on our campus. Traffic jams add to the environmental issue of pollution, as cars are running longer than necessary, and traffic is a major complaint of commuters. It is ethical to take actions on this since it benefits in both an economical way and an environmental way on campus.
If a solution to the traffic around Ohio State is found and implemented, hundreds of thousands of students, workers, professors, and citizens will immediately be affected in a positive way. The main problem of pollution will be addressed and will be cut down due to cars not sitting idle. Commuters will feel positive impacts in their wallets, as they won’t be spending as much money at the gas pumps. Companies that produce the product or perform the work will be benefited from the added income. Risks of injury to drivers and pedestrians will be greatly reduced. Finally, stress during commutes will be greatly reduced.
Our solution to this traffic problem is targeted at commuters who are fed up will their travel to and from campus. Initially, the target is the Ohio State vicinity, but potential solutions may be able to be implemented in any city that has a large university and traffic problems. The sky is the limit when solving this issue.
