The reflectance sensor detects and collects the distance (number of marks) the AEV travels using the reflective tape on the wheel. The reflectance sensor let the users operate the AEV accurately with the Arduino code. In regards to the MCR, the sensors will allow the team to track the AEV. To complete the MCR successfully, the sensor must be installed as close to the wheel with the tape facing them in order to acquire good signals.
A reflectance sensor test was performed in Lab 2 to verify that it was properly set-up. The sensor test will be utilized during other labs in to ensure they are always working.
