Approach to the Mission Concept Review (MCR)
The goals of SmartCity Columbus is to improve safety, enhance mobility, ignite ladders of opportunities and address climate change (2). In order to achieve these goals, Columbus is focused on the fixing the Urban Desert of Linden which is segregated and isolated by I-71. Through the SmartCity project, Columbus hopes to connect Linden to various parts of Columbus by improving the public transportation system and creating Alternative Energy Vehicles (AEV).
Team J’s approach to helping Columbus complete this mission revolves around the safety of the AEV’s passengers and efficient energy usage. By completing the Preliminary and Advanced Research and Development (R&D), the team will determine the most energy efficient code and create the safest and most energy efficient design. The team will also work towards a cheaper, but sustainable design. The team’s main goal to produce AEV will successfully complete all the Performance Tests.
