Meeting #1

Date: Sept – 1 – 2017

Members Present: Nich, Drew, and Syazana
Location: 18th Avenue Library

  • Objective: Discuss the AEV project and lab assignments due on Tuesday, September 10th.
  • Topics Discussed:
    • How to create the company website portfolio
      • Initiated by Drew
      • The group played around with u.osu.edu until a better understanding of the website was obtained and Nich took the lead to set up the company portfolio in the correct format
    • How to communicate with members of the other groups in the company and how to communicate with members of Team O
      • Initiated by Nich
      • A pair of groupmes was determined to be the easiest way for the group to communicate between other groups and within the group
    • What other items need to be completed prior to Tuesday’s lab
      • Initiated by Syazana
      • AEV needed to be constructed and it was decided that this would be completed outside of a group meeting time by Syazana since she had the unassembled box of AEV parts in her possession already
    • Tasks to be completed:
      • Creating a groupme for Team O and the entire Drees Company – assigned to Nich
      • Recording the meeting minutes, typing them up, and submitting them to Carmen – assigned to Drew
      • Setting up company website – assigned to Nich
      • Constructing the sample AEV for Tuesday’s lab – assigned to Syazana

Meeting #2

Date: Sept – 13 – 2017
Time: 10:20 am (Face-to-Face)
Members Present: Nich, Drew, Saurav, and Syazana
Location: 18th Avenue Library

  • Objective: Discuss the design of the AEV project
  • Topics Discussed:
    • What should be updated at the company website portfolio
      • Initiated by Nich
      • Nich took pictures of each group member for the “Meet The Team” section of the website
    • How to design the AEV with the highest efficiency
      • Initiated by Drew and Saurev
      • Each team member presented their rough designed AEV sketch and explained the benefits of each detail
      • Drew suggested that the AEV should have aerodynamic shape to overcome air resistance
      • Drew also suggested that the AEV could have a cover similar to the “blimp” concept
      • Saurev suggested about how the construction should not be too heavy and how the shape of the wings could affect the weight of the AEV
      • Saurev also discussed about the limitation of the design due to high cost
      • Syazana suggested about how the batteries and arduino board should be positioned and some changes could be made to the existing constrution of AEV
      • Syazana also suggested that the wings could follow the “shark” concept
      • Nich suggested that the concept of the “monorail” to be the most efficient shape as the monorail ensures equal efficient moving forward and backward
      • Nich also suggested that the AEV should have a front cap with propellers that has three blades to ensure maximum speed
      • The whole team had discussed the pros and cons of each idea and had agreed to combine the rough sketch made by Nich and Drew
    • What other items need to be completed prior to Tuesday’s lab
      • Initiated by Syazana
      • The team discussed about the needs to complete the preliminary by next lab in order to stay on track with the syllabus.
    • Tasks to be completed:
      • Updating the website for Team O  – assigned to Nich
      • Recording the meeting minutes, typing them up, and updating them on website– assigned to Syazana
      • Sketching the latest design for the AEV project – assigned to Drew
      • Constructing and handling the sample AEV for Tuesday’s lab – assigned to Saurev

Meeting #3

Date: Sept – 20 – 2017

Members Present: Nich, Saurev, and Syazana
Location: 18th Avenue Library

  • Objective: Discuss the Preliminary R&D under the “Concept Screening and Scoring” section, progress lab report and lab assignments due on Tuesday, September 25th.
  • Topics Discussed:
    • Running through the “Concept Screening and Scoring” lab.
      • Initiated by Nich.
      • The group discussed about the advantages and disadvantages of each of team member’s AEV sketch and run scores for every detail of the AEV design. How to communicate with members of the other groups in the company and how to communicate with members of Team O
    • What other items need to be completed prior to Tuesday’s lab
      • Initiated by Saurev
      • The group needs to choose two topics for further analysis reseach.
      • The team agreed to do a research on Track Variance and Wind Tunnel.
    • Tasks to be completed (progress lab report):
      • Initiate by Syazana
      • The team needs to submit a progress lab report due the following Tuesday
      • Everyone was given individual tasks according to the MCR and Deliverable. These are tasks assign to each group member:
      • The dateline for the team is by 9:00 pm the following Monday.
      • Nich will proof read the final progress lab report, compile and submit the report into Carmen.
      • Syazana will prepare the meeting minutes.

Meeting #4

Members Present: Nich, Drew, and Syazana
Location: 18th Avenue Library

  • Objective: Discuss the preparation for the committee meeting
  • Topics Discussed:
    • What should be done and prepared for the committee meeting.
      • Initiated by Nich.
      • The group chose three representatives for the following committee meeting.
      • The role of Human Resources – Syazana
      • The role of Research and Development – Drew
      • The role of Public Relations – Nich
    • How to communicate with members of the other groups in the company and how to communicate with members of Team O
      • Initiated by Nich

      • Each role position in the committee meeting must be prepared for each task’s given by Monday night.
      • Task of Human Resources: Be prepared to discuss on how team is getting along. Prepare team meeting minutes, schedule, and team working agreement.
      • Task of Research and Development: Be prepared to discuss the progress of AEV project. Bring team meeting minutes and first progress report during the meeting.
      • Task of Public Relations: Be prepared to discuss documentation – website updates. Bring the first two websites updates during the meeting.
      • The team agreed to have Nich and Drew as the representative for the group’s speech.
      • PowerPoint for the presentation was assigned to Nich.
      • Drew and Syazana will prepare parts of the AEV body parts in SolidWorks.

Meeting #5

Date: October – 11 – 2017
Time: 10:10 am (Face-to-Face)
Members Present: Nich, Drew, and Syazana
Location: 18th Avenue Library

  • Objective: Discuss on the Advanced Research and Development
  • Topics Discussed:
    • Two topics the team would like to research on.
      • Initiated by Nich.
      • Syazana suggested to research on the track variance as this would benefit the team in preparing the code for the team’s track.
      • Drew suggested to research on wind tunnel as he was curious on the effect of wind on the performance of AEV.
      • The team agrees on both ideas.
    • What other items need to be completed prior to Tuesday’s lab
      • Initiated by Nich.
      • The team needs to prepare on the Advanced Research and Development lab which consist of Track Variance and Wind Tunnel.
      • The team also needs to prepare for the R&D presentation.
    • Tasks to be completed (R&D Presentation):
      • Initiate by Syazana
      • The team present based on the Reasearch and Development.
      • Nich is going to present about Track Variance.
      • Drew is going to present about Wind Tunnel.
      • Syazana is going to talk about the introduction and conclusion.
      • Syazana will prepare the meeting minutes and compile the presentation slides.

Meeting #6

Members Present: Nich, Drew, and Syazana
Location: 18th Avenue Library

  • Objective: Discuss on the Performance Test 1 and Progress Report 2
  • Topics Discussed:
    • Preparation for Performance Test 1
      • Initiated by Nich.
      • Performance test will be held on next Monday.
      • The team discusses on the pros and cons of the first and second AEV design as both designs have approximately the same efficiency on track.
      • The team agrees to use the second AEV design for the performance test.
    • What other items need to be completed prior to next week’s lab.
      • Initiated by Drew.
      • The team needs to prepare on the performance test 1, performance test 2 and committee meeting 2
      • The team went through the requirements of the performance test 2.
    • Tasks to be completed (Progress Report 2):
      • Initiate by Syazana
      • Progress report 2 is based on the advanced Research and Development.
      • Nich is going to write about the track variance and the coding for the Arduino.
      • Drew is going to write about the wind tunnel and the overall introduction.
      • Syazana is going to write the upcoming lab summary and team meetings.
