Reflectance Sensors

 

The reflectance sensors play an important role in the completion of the Team’s Mission Concept Review. In order for the AEV to transport citizens via a monorail system, the machine must be autonomous and electric-powered. The sensors keep track of the distance the AEV travels with the use of the reflective tape on the wheel. The Arduino then records the number of marks, and records a distance value. This distance value can be used to determine the amount of electricity that must be supplied to the AEV before it takes a trip between Easton/Polaris and Linden.
