Members Present: Maria Ulatowski, Matthew Shoemaker, Meagan Ridgley, Ethan Horvath

Topics Discussed:
The team discussed the progress report for Lab three and how it was to be completed, the design sketches and everything that must be included in each, and discussed a new design element for the AEV and will work on it in solidworks.

Objective:
Complete the progress report for week four and work on improving the AEV design.

To do/Action Items:
– Complete progress report in time to review and edit before it is turned in
– Work on making the AEV design more efficient

Decisions:
– The progress report was divided up evenly, and the team is using solidworks to help in the design process

Reflections:
– The team is getting better at staying on task and working together
– The team still has work to do on the AEV

Topics Discussed: AEV design

Objective:
Finalize the design of the AEV, including motor and pieces required for laser cutting and 3d printing.

To do/Action Items:
Finish progress report and collect necessary information to progress with AEV design.

Decisions:
– The team has decided upon an alternative source of power. Rather than using propellers provided for the team in the AEV tool kit, the team decided upon using a small motor that will be attached in between the wheels of the AEV. This motor will be connected to the wheels of the AEV by a rubber band, turning the wheels as the program written specifies. This way, the motor will be more efficient for the AEV to move from its starting point to its destination. Programming will also be easier as the AEV will not rely on propellers moving it, but instead a motor that can be tested and adjusted quickly and efficiently.
– The team has also decided to reprint new parts for the AEV, including a new arm and body plate, to cut down on weight and make a more efficient AEV. This task has been performed by Matthew, who readjusted the dimensions of the AEV parts and sent the final designs the the professor and TAs to be laser cut at their earliest convenience.

Reflections:
– The team has been improving on its ability to perform tasks in lab at a reasonable pace and time.
– Discussion on more effective ways to finish the progress report in time must be had.
– The team has been very welcoming of new ideas presented for the AEV. Members are capable of critiquing ideas presented without malice and are willing to listen even if the idea is a long shot.

Topics Discussed: Schedule, Oral Presentation, Project Portfolio, Progress Report

Objective:
The objective of this week’s meeting was to delegate tasks to complete the assignments due in lab 6, as well as to familiarize the team with the design of the project portfolio.

To do/Action Items:
– Become familiar with how to edit the u.osu website to create pages and organize information.
– Come up with a format for the project portfolio.
– Discuss topics to cover in the oral presentation.
– Discuss how to construct the schedule for the remainder of the project.

Decisions:
– The team will update the project portfolio weekly. The team meeting notes and the description of the weekly lab will be updated by
1 person each week on a rotational basis.
– The schedule will be created using a Gantt chart.
– The oral presentation topics will be reflected on individually, and decided on in lab 6

Reflections:
– Maintenance and coordination of the project portfolio will take more time to become fluent with.
– The coordination and communication between members is consistently improving.
– The team is becoming more comfortable with our respective roles.
