Mission Statement

Backround

After the destruction of the Death Star, the rebel army needed a vehicle to travel on a monorail track in order to transport cargo on remote planets. To fill this need the team has been tasked with constructing an Advanced Energy Vehicle (AEV). The AEV must travel from a starting location, break a sensor triggering a gate to raise, retrieve the R2D2 and wait five seconds to ensure it has successfully attached and then return stopping at the gate again. Due to the environment on the remote planet the AEV must be equipped to handle variances in the track, run consistently and must minimize the energy/mass ratio. Through lab tasks and performance tests the team strived for an AEV with max system efficiency, auto control programming and energy management. team also strived to develop team skills through project management, communication and teamwork; and individually developed skills on the concepts of the design process and project documentation.

Objectives

Project Tangibles

-Create an Advanced Efficiency Vehicle (AEV) to travel on monorail system and complete operational objectives (reference MCR).

– Through Lab tasks and performance tests strive for an AEV with max system efficiency, auto control programming and energy management.

Project Intangibles

– Develop team skills through project management, communication and teamwork.

– Individually develop skills on the concepts of the design process and project documentation .
