Approach to MCR

Goal

Our team is approaching a design to contribute to the Columbus Smart City Project.  Our goal is to create an efficient and deliverable method of transportation between three (3) locations throughout the city.  Through design and planning we intend to minimize cost, increase efficiency, reduce pollution, and start a path to a more modern, green, and technologically competitive city.

Task

“To develop an AEV to transport people from Linden to Easton and Polaris.  The AEV (Advanced Energy Vehicle) will be autonomous, electric-powered and travel suspended from a monorail system.” (College of Engineering, 2019)

Within our design, we will model the following:

  1. Safety: create a robust and dependable vehicle that will eliminate safety risks.
  2. Efficiency: minimize travel time between stops.
  3. Accuracy: code the AEV to precise reference marks and stops.
  4. Energy: minimize electricity used for transportation.
  5. Budget: remain under total budget to maximize investment.
