The team used a quick brainstorm method. This involves saying the thoughts that immediately pop into your head. In this method, no thought or idea is bad. This is meant to get as many options in a short amount of time and discuss after the activity.
This method evolved quickly into, not excessive ideas, but slightly thought out ideas for design. This was usable because all members seemed to have similar ideas.
The next step was to group similar ideas into categories. For the intended method, the thought is to choose the best option by everyone having one vote. Ideally with more options, team members could have two or three votes and the options with the most votes would prevail. This is done for each category. Once grouped together, the team discussed possible designs with the limited, but popular, options.
Once grouped together, the team discussed possible designs with the limited, but popular, options. The design transformed quickly starting with the base, or frame, of the AEV to the spacing and location of the components.
There were a few designs explored. The consensus of the design revolved around distribution of weight, ergonomics, and symmetry.
