The purpose for the labs this week is to create two different codes involving how the AEV will get through the whole track and complete the task of retrieving R2D2. The team will then compare these two codes by determining which code is more consistent and energy efficient. The data analysis tool will help in determining the power usage of each code, while physical observation of the actual runs can determine the consistency of the code.
Overall the purpose of the labs this week is to create a consistent, energy efficient code that will tell the AEV to stop at the correct locations and successfully retrieve R2D2. Comparing the two codes will be an important part in progressing to writing the final code. After this lab, the team will be progressing towards creating the most energy efficient run.
Below is a Power vs Time graph from a successful run during this lab. The data was collected from the MATLAB GUI. The total energy used is approximately 248 Joules.
