Lab 8 – Performance Test 1 (Design)

To prepare for Performance Test 1 (PT1), a short memo was written to explain what the group and each member will be doing exactly in this week’s lab. The memo written is called a Test Readiness Review (TRR). The purpose of these labs are to test varying designs of AEV’s and find a code that allows the AEV to run successfully. The designs will be compared to see which is more efficient. All of the data obtained from the labs is used to create the most efficient AEV design.

The objective for the labs were to test two different designs on the track to compare the efficiency and characteristics of each run. The goal was to find the most efficient design that could complete the course consistently. The labs were completed by testing two different designs on the same track, with the same code. This method of testing essentially made the only variable in the data the design itself. This allowed the team to analyze and decide which design was more efficient.

Since this lab was about testing two different designs, below will be the two designs that the two had been tested. The original AEV had a thicker wing plate. The new design offered a thinner one, thus making the AEV weigh less and will take less energy to move.old designnew design
