This lab utilized concept screening and concept scoring matrices that were used to compare the AEV prototype design with the reference AEV. These matrices measured each vehicle based on criteria that the group believed was important to the AEV’s design.
These matrices were to be used in order to determine which AEV design could be used for continued development. The highest scores in both of these matrices were very strong indicators of which AEV designs will perform effectively when tested.
The following figure shows the screening and scoring matrices for the initial AEV designs of each team member.
