February Meeting #1
2/1 – Hitchcock 224
Present: Nate Jackson, Jon Hillier, Ethan Schupak, Chris Reategui, Kyle McIntyre
- Talked about ways to design AEV
- AEV tested on test track (Upload failed)
- Arduino unable to run code
- Another Arduino was tested
- Sensors were replaced
- Arduino unable to run code again
- Different motors tested
- Different motors did not work
- Sketchbook was re-downloaded
- Code was able to run on Arduino after sketchbook was re-downloaded
February Meeting #2
2/7 – Hitchcock 324
Present: Nate Jackson, Jon Hillier, Ethan Schupak, Chris Reategui, Kyle McIntyre
- Worked on Progress Report 03 and 04
February Meeting #3
2/8 – Hitchcock 224
Present: Nate Jackson, Jon Hillier, Ethan Schupak, Chris Reategui, Kyle McIntyre
- Determined how many marks needed to travel 21.813 ft
- AEV tested to stop at the gate.
- AEV tested on track
- Run 1: Went full length of track
- Run 2: Code edited to reverse motor to brake it, AEV went a few feet past the gate
- Run 3: Code edited to put more power into brake, AEV didn’t make it to the gate
- Run 4: Code edited for less power on brake but a longer duration, AEV went a few feet past the gate
- Data collected on MATLAB AEV data recorder for Run 3 and 4
February Meeting #4
Date: 14-Feb-2017
Time: 3:55 (Face-to-Face)
Present: Nate Jackson (NJ), Jon Hillier (JH), Ethan Schupak (ES), Chris Reategui (CR), Kyle McIntyre (KM)
Objective: Complete progress report 05 and update project portfolio.
To do:
- Complete progress report 05 (NJ, JH, ES, KM)
- Update project portfolio (CR)
Decisions:
Certain decisions regarding formatting of the portfolio were discussed among the group.
Reflections:
Much work was needed to get the project portfolio up to where it should be.
February Meeting #5
Date: 15-Feb-2017
Time: 3:55 (Face-to-Face)
Members Present:
Nate Jackson (NJ), Jon Hillier (JH), Ethan Schupak (ES), Chris Reategui (CR), Kyle McIntyre (KM)
Objective: Re-configuring the AEV and finding a design that scores well against the default design.
To do:
Screen and Score every member of the group’s AEV concept drawing.
Construct a group member’s AEV design
Program the AEV to run a certain scenario
Decisions:
The group decided to construct Kyle’s design for testing purposes
Reflections:
The group spent a lot of time on deciding which design to build and on the scoring process. In future labs being more concise on certain issues will allow more time for other objectives.
February Meeting #6
Date: 21-Feb-2017
Time: 3:35 (Face-to-Face)
Members Present:
Nate Jackson (NJ), Jon Hillier (JH), Ethan Schupak (ES), Chris Reategui (CR), Kyle McIntyre (KM)
Objective: Complete progress report 06 and update project portfolio.
To do:
- Complete progress report 06 (NJ, JH, ES, KM)
- Update project portfolio (CR)
Decisions:
While getting some work done on the progress report and on the project portfolio, the group decided to work independently on parts of the progress report and portfolio. A reason being limited space in Hitchcock 324 and other computer labs.
Reflections:
This is the first time the group has decided to work independently.
February Meeting #7
Date: 22-Feb-2017
Time: 3:55 (Face-to-Face)
Members Present:
Nate Jackson (NJ), Jon Hillier (JH), Ethan Schupak (ES), Chris Reategui (CR), Kyle McIntyre (KM)
Objective: Discuss Design Ideas and PDR presentation
To do:
- Come up with a design for AEV
Decisions:
The group went through many designs in the lab period. The group decided on a mixture of Chris’s and Jon’s concept drawings.
Reflections:
The group spent a lot of time discussing various ideas. Need to be more time efficient during discussion
February Meeting #8
Date: 28-Feb-2017
Time: 3:45 (Face-to-Face)
Members Present:
Nate Jackson (NJ), Jon Hillier (JH), Ethan Schupak (ES), Chris Reategui (CR), Kyle McIntyre (KM)
Objective: Complete and practice for the PDR presentation
To do:
- Complete the PDR presentation
Decisions:
The group decided how to split up the presentation and what needed to be discussed during.
Reflections:
The group’s presentation skills need some work
