Executive Summary
The External Sensors lab introduced a new component in the team’s AEV design – the wheel count sensor. The addition of this sensor would enable the Arduino to read the vehicle’s distance (both relative and absolute) from it’s starting position. This information is helpful when calculating values of velocity and kinetic energy of the vehicle. Figure 1 shows the wheel count sensors that were mounted on the team’s vehicle.
