The Advance Energy Vehicle (AEV) is a vehicle that is specifically designed to be energy efficient and eco-friendly with a low production cost. The vehicle is designed in such a way in order to complete a specific scenario. In the scenario, the AEV will operate and move along a monorail track system that are located in a remote planet with limited supply of power. The AEV will travel from one side to the other to pick up a load, a Star Wars‘ R2 unit, and travel back to where the AEV came from. The students are required to create a scale model of an original AEV design, and carry out tests and evaluation on the AEV model to make sure it can successfully complete simulated task of the given scenario. To fit the major criteria needed for the AEV to work, the students should take into account may factors such as the AEV’s weight, materials used, aerodynamics, center of gravity, and much more. This can be obtained through the in-depth knowledge in coding, physics, and general engineering which will be explored throughout a series of lab sessions.
